The lack of control men have is manifest in the frequency of their failed plans. Sometimes big plans fall through, and sometimes small. Regardless of the time and effort spent on planning, whether grandiose or simple, there is always the possibility of failure with men. Yet, there is One Who’s plans never fail.

Job spoke to God saying, “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You” (Job 42:1). God is omnipotent (all powerful), and omniscient (all knowing). Therefore, His plans are unalterable, and unfailing. If God sets out to do something, it progresses and ends “Just Like He Planned.” We should consider this when planning our own lives.

God revealed His desire for mankind – He “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). This is validated by His longsuffering – He “is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). God has plans that will come to fruition. He will judge the world in righteousness, giving eternal life to those who follow Him, and eternal death to those who do not (cf. Romans 2:5-11). If you let Him, God can direct your steps through His word (cf. Jeremiah 10:23; Psalm 119:105). This plan will not fail. Will you follow Him?
