“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 117)
The Lord is worthy of our praise, thanksgiving, and adoration. He is a merciful and benevolent God. His lovingkindness is not limited to any one people. He sent His Son “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Yes, even the Gentiles are saved by His grace and mercy (cf. Acts 15:15-18). The middle wall of separation has been broken down (cf. Ephesians 2:14-18).
All of this is according to His eternal purpose. He determined to “gather together in one all things in Christ” (Ephesians 1:10), and succeeded. His truth is everlasting, and cannot fail. He promised to Abram (cf. Genesis 12:1-3), the inspired Psalmist looked forward to the fulfillment (cf. Psalm 117), and we have witnessed its reality (cf. Hebrews 11:39-40). Praise the Lord! We have hope in Christ!
