“Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)
It is a certainty that the majority of mankind will not see heaven. This is not a blind prediction, but a revealed fact (cf. Matthew 7:13-14). God has told us that this is contrary to His desire (cf. 1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9). It is a sad fact of which God has sought to inform all to at least save a few.
What compounds the sorrow is the great contrast between the effort on God’s part, and that of man. God has made it so simple to find salvation. He has made Himself accessible to all (cf. Acts 17:26-28). He has perpetuated His word throughout time so men can read, understand, and obey to receive its eternal blessings (cf. Isaiah 40:6-8; Ephesians 3:3-4). He has given all men ample time to repent and accept His grace (cf. 2 Peter 3:8-9, 15). However, many simply do not give God any attention. Many who claim to give God attention grant Him only feigned attention which denies God’s power to save (cf. 2 Timothy 3:5). What He desires and requires is the honest seeking of His will, and faithful obedience (cf. Matthew 7:21-27).
Time is limited. God is available to you now, but the scripture tells us He will not always be near. All men are appointed to taste death and be judged (cf. Hebrews 9:27). Christ is coming at a time we do not know (cf. Matthew 24:36; 2 Peter 3:10). Bear with the word of exhortation and seek Him while you can!
