Lately there has been widespread worry over the Ebola virus and the ISIS terrorists. The government has taken some steps in an attempt to minimize these threats. However, there is a threat far greater than Ebola or ISIS, or any other thing, that nobody seems to be worried about.

The Apostle Peter wrote, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). While people are panicking about the spread of Ebola there is a virus capable of destroying the soul that the devil is working his hardest each day to spread. While people are worried about ISIS terrorizing their hometown there is a terrorist of far greater power wreaking havoc on the moral fabric of our nation. We must wake up and realize that while we are worrying so much about these physical threats the devil is flying under the radar.

We must be vigilant about this spiritual threat. We must “Resist him, steadfast in the faith” (1 Peter 5:9). And we must warn others! “The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night” (2 Peter 3:10). We must be ready for that great day!
