“no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20-21).
The Bible contains writing like no other. The origin of Scripture is with God in eternity (cf. Ephesians 3:9-12; Isaiah 40:8). Its author is one. Its theme is one. Yet, one flaw it has not. It needs no addition, nor subtraction, and to do so would be to secure a most terrible end (cf. Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Revelation 22:18-19). It is the most complete, and profitable writing known (cf. 2 Timothy 3:16-17). One need only read it, study it, and obey it (cf. 1 Timothy 4:12-16; 2 Timothy 2:15). The man who does so will be thoroughly blessed (cf. Psalm 1:1-2). It is the guidebook of life, for its author is the source of life (cf. Psalm 119:105; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16; Acts 17:26-28). It leads none astray, and those who follow it will receive the promises therein (cf. Hebrews 6:13-18). It is rightly called “The Holy Bible,” for its author is the holy God (cf. 1 Peter 1:16). It is deserving of our undivided attention, and utmost veneration. “Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go” (Joshua 1:7).
