Question smallerIn the given text we see Jesus speak one of His many parables. In this particular parable Jesus is describing the kingdom of God. He likens it to a man “scattering seed on the ground.” The seed, being the word of God, must be spread by a disciple. We must not neglect those in the world by keeping the seed to ourselves; rather, we must spread it!

We cannot judge a man’s heart. We cannot know whether or not he has an honest heart to receive the word. That is, until we teach him the word. We must spread the word with full faith that it has the power to bring others to Christ! We may not know how this works, but what we do know is we must sow the seed, and then God will give the increase (1 Cor. 3:7).

People are more likely to be saved if we teach them the word. If we fulfill our duties as a Christian there will be more that are ready for the harvest!
