rsz_articles_20webJesus is one “Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth” (1 Peter 2:22). He is not one “who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). He accomplished a great feat in that “He endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). He is the “captain of [our] salvation” (Hebrews 2:10) and we need to follow Him.

We can, and must follow in His footsteps because He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). He has made it possible to follow in His steps, for “God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:12). He has given us the precious invitation – “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). Are you following Him?
