In Genesis 19, God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Righteous Lot was shown mercy from the Lord, as he was spared from the destruction along with his family. “When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, ‘Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city'” (Genesis 19:15). Like the angels urged Lot, the righteous need to urge each other to do the works of God, and avoid sin. The unrighteous must be urged to repent, and turn to God lest they perish.
