“He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). John the baptist showed noble character upon the arrival of Jesus. He understood his place in God’s plan, and wanted nothing more. He prepared a path for Christ in the hearts of the Jews, and was joyed to see Him come. We, too, should emulate the humble character of John, and allow Christ to increase in our lives, while we decrease.
