Paul showed the great lengths he went to for transparency in bearing the gift of the Gentiles to the needy saints in Jerusalem (2 Corinthians 8:16-24). He gave the reason – “providing honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men” (v. 21). It does matter what men think of us. And with as much as is in our power we need to avoid giving any room for a wrong impression.
