“He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.” (Isaiah 53:3) The fact that Jesus was “a Man of sorrows” is of great importance. Because Jesus took on human flesh, and experienced the sorrows associated with it, He is our perfect High Priest who can continually aid us.
