On the first Pentecost after the resurrection of Christ the Holy Spirit was given to the apostles, and they began their work given them by the Lord. Peter referred to this eventful day as “the beginning” (Acts 11:15). It was the beginning of 1) the preaching of repentance and remission of sins, 2) the conversions to Christ, and 3) the Lord’s church. This is the first in a series of lessons considering the conversion accounts in the book of Acts.
